Kaylee Jackson broke Gahanna Lincoln's all-time volleyball kills record on Thursday, Oct. 8, cementing her place as one of the most productive hitters in program history.
The Golden Lions senior recorded her 707th career kill in the first set against Westerville Central on Senior Night, Gahanna Lincoln Athletics announced on X. Athletic Director Matthew Welsh confirmed the milestone in a separate post, noting Jackson reached the mark in the opening set.
Gahanna Lincoln went on to win the match, giving the home crowd a victory to go with the record-breaking moment.
No final score was released for the match. The previous record holder and the total Jackson surpassed were not identified in the school's announcement.
Jackson, a member of the Class of 2027, has been rewriting the Gahanna Lincoln record book all season. On Sept. 8, she became the program's all-time blocks leader during a match against Olentangy Orange, according to a post by Welsh on X. That gives Jackson career records in two of volleyball's most important statistical categories in a single season.
The kills record came on a night dedicated to honoring the program's seniors. Gahanna Lincoln Athletics also recognized senior Kennedy during the evening's celebrations, according to a separate post from the department.
Head coach Aleese Butler's squad still has the remainder of the regular season and a potential OHSAA postseason run ahead. Gahanna Lincoln is scheduled to visit Grove City at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, then host Pickerington North at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15.
Jackson's 707 kills and counting give her room to push the record further before her high school career ends.
