Temple Beth Shalom in New Albany will open a six-week letter-writing series on Sept. 28, inviting both congregants and community guests.
Sarah Phillips and Karen Scholl will lead the sessions, which run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. each Monday at the temple, 5089 Johnstown Road. The series continues Oct. 5, 12, 19 and 26, and wraps up Nov. 2.
Each session follows a three-part format, according to the Columbus Jewish News. Participants discuss a weekly writing theme and how it connects to their lives and their Judaism, work through short prompts, then settle into dedicated writing time.
No prior writing experience is required. Attendees will not be asked to share what they write, and notebooks will be provided at the first session.
The cost is $15 per person. Registration is available through the temple.
