An 18-year-old driver died Tuesday night after losing control of a pickup truck on Mink Street in Jersey Township, just east of New Albany.

Isaac Aguilera, of Colorado, was driving a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 northbound on Mink Street near Condit Drive just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, when the truck crossed left of center and left the west side of the roadway, the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) said, according to NBC4.

The truck struck a ditch, a tree, a fence and a second tree before coming to rest off the road, OSHP said. Aguilera was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Two juvenile passengers, ages 13 and 16, were also in the truck. Medics transported both to Nationwide Children's Hospital for treatment, ThisWeek News reported. Their conditions had not been released as of Wednesday morning.

OSHP said investigators are working to determine whether anyone in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, 10TV reported.

Jersey Township sits in Licking County along New Albany's eastern boundary.

The cause of the crash has not been determined. The highway patrol's investigation is ongoing.
