The Gahanna storefront at 163 Granville St. is now the sole brick-and-mortar home of Opening Night!, the dancewear and gymnastics retailer that closed its Dublin location May 1 after 40 years on Sawmill Road.

Families shopping for dance shoes, leotards, gymnastics gear, cheerleading apparel and skating accessories will find everything consolidated at the Granville Street store, which has served the area since 1997.

Opening Night! launched its original location at 6371 Sawmill Rd. in Dublin in 1986. The business added the Gahanna shop 11 years later. For 29 years, the two stores operated side by side, building a following among central Ohio dance and gymnastics families.

That changed May 1.

In a social media post that day, the business said it was sad to leave the Dublin space but excited about what comes next, directing customers to the Gahanna store. The company said on its website that all operations now run out of the Granville Street location.

Looking ahead, Opening Night! is exploring pop-up shops at local studios during the back-to-school season and considering opening another permanent location, according to 614Now. No dates, venues or details for those plans have been announced.

For families gearing up for fall dance and gymnastics seasons, the Gahanna store is open seven days a week: Monday through Thursday from noon to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 6 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Pointe shoe fittings are available by appointment.

The store can be reached at (614) 337-9733 or through its online shop at openingnightdancewear.com. With back-to-school season underway and no pop-up schedule set, the Granville Street storefront is the one stop for local dance and gymnastics families until further notice.
