Franklin County Public Health (FCPH) will spray for mosquitoes in the New Albany/Plain Township North zone Sept. 3, starting at 9 p.m.

The treatment was triggered by a positive West Nile virus test in mosquito traps, according to Plain Township. The spraying is weather permitting.

Thursday's round marks at least the fifth time FCPH has sprayed the New Albany/Plain Township area in 2026. Previous treatments targeted the South zone on June 18 and July 23, both zones on July 30, and the North zone on Aug. 6.

Residents can check exact zone boundaries on FCPH's spray schedule and maps page. In an August 2025 spray announcement, Plain Township reminded residents not to approach or pursue the spray trucks. Plain Township also noted in July 2025 that residents can sign up for FCPH email alerts about future treatments.
