Gahanna Lincoln's girls volleyball team beat Westerville Central 3-1 on the road Tuesday, Sept. 22, picking up an Ohio Capital Conference win at Westerville Central High School in Westerville.

The victory moved the Golden Lions to 7-8 overall this season. Gahanna Lincoln is 6-6 on the road and 1-2 at home, according to the team's official schedule.

Gahanna Lincoln Athletics posted the result on the program's official account late Tuesday night.

The Sept. 22 win extends a four-match winning streak for the Lions. Gahanna Lincoln swept rival New Albany 3-0 at home on Sept. 17, beat Central Crossing 3-0 on the road Sept. 15 and topped Hilliard Darby 3-0 away on Sept. 10. All four wins came in straight sets or better.

The program opened OCC play Sept. 2 with a 3-0 road sweep of Marion-Franklin in Columbus. That match marked the first conference test under first-year head coach Aleese Butler, a 2014 Gahanna Lincoln graduate who was announced as head coach on May 26, pending board approval. The Gahanna Lincoln Athletics account described the hire as welcoming Butler home.

Butler's squad has leaned on senior Kaylee Jackson, who became the program's all-time blocks leader during a Sept. 8 home match against Olentangy Orange. Athletic administrator Matthew Welsh announced the milestone on social media, noting Jackson broke the record in the first set that night.

Jackson, a member of the class of 2027, now holds the top spot in a program record book that Butler once contributed to as a player.

The Lions next travel to Pickerington North on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m. for the Volley for the Cure event. Gahanna Lincoln then hosts Westerville Central again on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m. for Senior Night, giving the Lions a second crack at the Warhawks on their home floor.
