Gahanna Lincoln defeated Central Crossing 38-0 Friday, Sept. 25, to improve to 6-0 on the season.

The road win opened Ohio Capital Conference Ohio Division play with a shutout for the Golden Lions, according to the Columbus Dispatch's scoreboard. The team's official account on X confirmed the 6-0 record after the game.

The 38-point margin followed a tighter Week 5 result. Gahanna Lincoln edged Hilliard Darby 10-7 on the road Sept. 18 in a game that had head coach Bruce Ward telling the Columbus Dispatch his team was fortunate.

Against Darby, kicker Jacob Ashton gave the Lions an early 3-0 lead with a field goal. Darby took a 7-3 advantage before quarterback Grey Kegley connected with receiver Marki Wallace on a 7-yard touchdown pass with 10:54 remaining, as the student publication Lincoln Online reported. That 10-7 lead held.

The Lions entered Week 6 ranked No. 3 in Central Ohio and No. 15 in the statewide Big 25, according to cleveland.com. They also sat at No. 8 in Division I and No. 16 in Ohio on MaxPreps as of Sept. 24.

Kegley, Wallace, running back Leon Cummings and Ashton have been key contributors throughout the season for Ward's squad.

Gahanna Lincoln hosts New Albany at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, in a matchup of ranked OCC-Ohio teams. New Albany improved to 5-1 Friday, Sept. 25, with a 28-21 win over Grove City. The Eagles entered Week 6 ranked No. 4 in Central Ohio and No. 17 in the Big 25.

The OHSAA regular season concludes Oct. 23, with playoffs beginning Oct. 30.
